                                                               larva swims free

                                                               until committing self to rock headfirst

                                                               Antennae glands build up cement

                                                               In the darkness of this temple

                                                               the crustacean gives up its eyes

                                                               Legs become feathery cirri

                                                               waving with motions of tides

                                                               taking offerings from the sea
